Who are we looking for?
Due to the growing popularity of our programs, we are seeking expressions of interest from archers, instructors and coaches who are interested in being a part of our mission!
The most important thing, the ONLY essential thing that we are looking for, is cultural fit and alignment with our values of personal growth, sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsibility.
We are seeking EOI's from coaches and a variety of other roles from all experience levels and backgrounds. To put it simply, I can teach you many of the specific skills required for the role. What I'm more interested in is what can YOU bring to the team?
There are potential roles available for:
Instructors:
The Instructor is responsible for helping to run group courses by assisting the lead instructor / coach. This includes the setting up of equipment, basic equipment maintenance, and the demonstration / instruction of basic archery skills.
Lead Instructors:
The Lead Instructor is the most important role in Rogue Archery. They are responsible for running our courses, managing safety, demonstrating and instructing archery skills, coordinating group sessions, teaching the course curriculum, ensuring that all participants make improvement, and keeping the course fun, entertaining and memorable!
Bad lead instructor = bad archery experience
Good lead instructor = good archery experience
Lead instructors must be able to be charismatic, humorous and confident public speakers. The biggest challenge is maintaining authority and compliance within a group whilst keeping it fun, enjoyable and instructive for all participants.
Lead Instructors must start as an Instructor until they can learn the course curriculum, be trained in the appropriate skills and demonstrate competence at running courses independently.
Coaches:
Our objective at Rogue Archery is fundamentally to promote the sport, and offer development pathways for aspiring archers. As such, there are potential opportunities for coaching students of various skill levels available. These opportunities are proportionate to your coaching skill and experience.
Our current coaching focus is primarily recurve centric, however, an opportunity exists for target compound coaching.
Favorable Qualifications / Skills
-
Must either have, or be able to gain certification as a Lvl. 1 Archery Coach with Archery Australia (min).
-
Working with Children Blue Card (P).
-
Experience in competitive archery is highly regarded.
-
Experience as an archery instructor / coach is favorable, but not essential.
-
Lead instructors must have a drivers license and be competent to drive a trailer.
-
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are pretty much mandatory, particularly for a Lead Instructor.
-
Other favorable skills include: administration, equipment set-up / maintenance, video editing / photography etc.
Money
Skilled instructors / coaches are the core of Rogue Archery's success, so we are willing to pay generous hourly rates for the right person.
The type of employment contract and income is negotiable and directly proportionate to your contribution. There are current opportunities to work casually, or to build your involvement to full time. Let's chat about how this can happen.
Fill out your details below, and we'll be in touch for a chat!
Cheers,
